Job Title: Chef

Reporting to: Duty Manager

Department: Catering

Qualifications/ Experience: 706 1 & 2/ NVQ or equivalent. Level 2 food hygiene.

Primary Responsibilities

Key Work Objectives

To work within a busy catering facility in an exclusive indoor play area to ensure food is prepared and cooked to an excellent standard. To work alongside the area manager to develop menus within the play centre.

Prepare and cook food for both daily sales and organised functions.
Ensure compliance with food hygiene and health and safety in the kitchen area.
Train and develop any assistant/ apprentice chefs.
Responsible for ensuring the kitchen and all kitchen equipment is cleaned in line with protocol and to an exemplary standard.
Work with the area manager to develop seasonal menus.
Responsible for the ordering of food related stock and stock rotation.
Ensure all documentation is completed timely and accurately.
To ensure orders are placed with nominated suppliers to maintain sufficient stock to meet fluctuating demand using existing software.
To communicate and oversee portion control using existing software.
To monitor, record and minimise kitchen waste using existing software.
To oversee the duties of staff within the kitchen area

General

Maintain the highest levels of professionalism, service and personal appearance.
Maintain the highest level of customer service at all times.
Assist other departments in their duties as and when required.
Promote services and events at Astrabound wherever appropriate.
Whilst you are wearing Astrabound uniform, you represent the venue and therefore whether you are on or off site should conduct yourself in a professional and appropriate manner at all times.
