This ‘blog’ is to firstly introduce the Management team and to let you know of all the new and exciting changes being implemented at Astrabound.
My name is Ben and I have been Manager since June 2013. I run Astrabound’s social media set up so you will see a variety of tweets and Facebook updates from me. Ultimately I am focused on listening to our customer’s feedback and using this to ensure every aspect of the ‘Astrabound experience’ is the best it can be. It’s great to work in such a fun environment with a great team.
I’m Sue and have been Manager since December 2011. I really enjoy my time spent at Astrabound – it is a pleasure to work with the team, who all get on so well, and to welcome the customer’s for an enjoyable experience. Astrabound is predominantly about safe, stimulating play giving parent’s peace of mind so they can sit back and relax! I love nothing more than to see the place full to the rafters with a fantastic atmosphere, kids having fun!
We have a great working relationship, both heading in the same direction, and are supported by an excellent team. You will more than likely see us around the facility, please feel free to come say ‘Hi’ and let us know of any suggestions/ideas you may have to improve your experience at Astrabound. We will do our very best to implement where ever practicably possible.
Astrabound is Doncaster’s biggest and best indoor play and party venue, catering from ages 0 – 12 years.
If you’ve yet to visit Astrabound, here’s a little more information … Astrabound is a large purpose built multi level soft play arena totalling 13,500 sq ft filled with fun and activities for all. We have numerous areas recommended for particular age groups;
Baby area, Astra Street, Toddler area, Junior area and Sports pitch incorporating a sports wall, basket ball hoops and football goals/balls.
We have a large 5 star food rated café which serves a variety of continental coffees, cold drinks and a vast selection of delicious food for every pallet.
Anyone is welcome to join our membership scheme which is completely free of charge. This will allow you to receive exclusive discounts as well as be the first to know about our new events and any offers we are running. Speak to a member of our reception team who will be happy to help.
We are in the process of improving our toddler activity offerings which take place midweek in the hope of encouraging even more pre-school children to come along to learn/play/participate at our ever popular sessions. Don’t worry our very own Astrabear will still be included as we know how much the children adore him! Please refer to our new activity play board in the facility. We have recently introduced ‘Messy Play’ into our events – this is a fun and immersive way to be creative with your child whilst not having to worry about cleaning up enabling you to spend quality time with your child. Forthcoming activities include educational workshops and story time so watch this space ….
Thinking of visiting us through the week, term time after school? Take advantage of our PES (play, eat, save) meal deal – this is £6.50 and includes your child’s entry together with any one of our delicious Mega meals (with a free cup of juice).
2014 has been a big year for Astrabound. So far we have introduced a variety of new offerings and still have many more pending introduction!
Firstly, 2014 sees the introduction of our new party offerings; we have completely re-vamped and re-invented even more party packages to choose from. We realise your child’s special day needs to be just that, so we work hard to provide a stress free, fun and memorable party experience for all.
As a direct result of listening to our customer’s feedback we have introduced an ‘off-peak’ build-a-party. This is completely customizable, and starts from just £5 per child.
As well as our current themed packages we have also introduced console parties, karaoke parties and even photo booth parties, all of which are proving extremely popular.
We are currently working on introducing an online portal which will allow you to book a party at your leisure over the internet. From there you can then download all the necessary information including invites or alternatively we can post these out. We understand just how demanding it is being a busy parent, juggling home and work so we really hope this feature will make the Astrabound booking experience a little easier and more convenient.
Once a month we endeavour to offer a little more than just ‘play’ to our regular/new customers by holding themed events – please keep a look out for forthcoming events which are advertised in the facility and on Face book. We have some great ones in the making! These commenced last September and to-date we have hosted: A Pirate Day, Halloween Event, Crazy Christmas Party, A Winter Fun Day, Easter Hunt, A Reptile Event, Astra-cadabra Event and a Sports day event. We hope you have as much fun as we do joining in with the games and activities not forgetting the face painting.
Finally, we have one last new and exciting announcement which could be one of our biggest to-date! We have unveiled our Astrabear who has had a makeover.. but even more exciting we have a BRAND new completely different mascot to accompany Astrabear on his adventures… keep your eyes peeled for the big reveal event in September, it’s going to be so much fun!

The team are keeping busy planning and working very hard to ensure your visit to Astrabound is a very enjoyable one!
We have welcomed so many of you over the half term period – one of the busiest weeks of our calendar! It was great to see the place drumming with activity and so many smiling faces!
As well as half term we hosted our annual Halloween Scare Fest, ticketed event, which was a complete ‘sell out’, thank you to everyone who joined us! It saw our staff wrapped in toilet roll and ‘mummified’ as well as hundreds of children feeling slimy zombie brains and dancing to Michael Jackson’s Thriller and so much more. Staff and customers alike got into the spirit of the theme and there were some wonderful outfits! We can’t wait for next year!
This month sees even more positive changes ahead, we are very close to presenting our new menu, most of your old favourites remain but we have added new offerings enabling our customers a wider variety of choices as well as not being restricted to set menu meals, you are able to follow a ‘build-a-meal’ plan for a more personal taste. We hope you enjoy!
November’s event is all about having fun and forgetting about the dreary winter days, that’s why we have decided to host ‘Astrabound’s Giant Party’ for this month’s entertainment. Your children can enjoy lots of games including pass the parcel, musical statues and many more of the classics, all INCLUDED in our standard admission price. Look out for details …. do come along and join in the fun.
Finally, we are all really excited for the festive period which is drawing ever closer. The Christmas decorations will very shortly be up and we are looking forward to Santa and his helpers visiting and meeting all our visitors! There will be a post box situated in the facility for the children to post their letters to Santa. Or why not visit him in his Grotto and tell Santa your wish list and receive a small gift! As well as this, we have possibly our most exciting event of the year! Astrabound’s Christmas Party, this ticketed event is going to be two and a half hours of VIP afterhours fun, together with Santa and his elves, the Astrabound team will be entertaining you for the evening. Tickets can be purchased now and are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment! Details will be posted on our Facebook page imminently, so why not ‘Like’ us to keep up to date!
